The webinar duration is 1:30 hours.

IEA SHC Solar Academy: Task 66 - Solar Energy Buildings (2)

About this webinar:

On the global level, the operation of buildings accounts for around 40 % of the primary energy consumption and approximately 25% of greenhouse gas emissions. In Europe, buildings are responsible for 40% of the energy consumption and 36% of the CO2 emissions. Additionally, large amounts of energy are embodied in the building’s construction materials.

The IEA SHC Task 66 focuses on the development of economic and ecologically feasible solar energy supply concepts with high solar fractions for new and existing buildings and communities. The targeted solar thermal and solar electrical fractions depend significantly on the climate zone.

For moderate climate conditions such as central Europe, northern China and northern USA solar fractions:

•             of at least 85% of the heat demand

•             100% of the cooling demand and

•             at least 60% of the electricity requirements for households and e-mobility

should be achieved.

IEA SHC Task 66 addresses single-family buildings, multi-story residential buildings and building blocks, focusing on both, new buildings and the comprehensive refurbishment of existing buildings.

The webinar will provide an overview of the work of Task 66 on Solar Energy Buildings and present the most important results achieved so far.

Please note that this webinar will comprise of two elements - at 6 AM GMT/UTC we will jointly watch the broadcast of the webinar presentations as they were held in the original webinar presented on September 19. After this, we will head into a separate live Q/A session to answer your questions!

For this, two separate registrations will be necessary - one for the webinar broadcast and one for the live Q/A session - please read the instructions below on how to register.

To attend the broadcasted webinar:

- Register via the box on the left side of this homepage for the webinar broadcast

- Join the webinar broadcast on 21 September at 6 AM GMT/UTC

To attend the live Q/A session:

To attend the Q/A session after the broadcasted webinar, register via this link which will also be sent to you upon completion of your initial registration

- Join the Q/A session on 21 September at 7.15 AM GMT/UTC via this second link

Please note that only completing your registration for the Q/A session will allow you to join this part of the webinar for live interaction with the moderator and speakers.
