PVsyst SA develops, maintains and distributes the application PVsyst, which is used for the design and analysis of PV systems.
It can be used for installations ranging from small residential systems up to large utility PV farms.
The PVsyst software was born of a research project at the university of Geneva.
Since 2012 it has been maintained and improved further by the independent company PVsyst SA.

GREA was set up in 1999 by a group of lecturers who taught the mechanics specialisation on the UdL's degree in Industrial Engineering. It has
been a multidisciplinary group from the outset.
The Group puts forward concurrent engineering solutions to industry resulting from its research into the fields of Thermal Engineering, (assessment in TES, energy optimization of buildings and industrial processes and applications of solar energy and other renewable energies), Sustainable Built Environment (green infraestructure and others and sustainable materials) and Machinery Design and Optimization. It likewise engages in technology transfer and training.

TVP Solar is a Swiss company providing carbon-free solutions to one of the world’s most pressing energy challenges: decarbonization of large-scale heat consumption.

Our Product:
MT-Power is our flagship product, the high-vacuum solar thermal flat plate with both Solar Keymark and SRCC certification on performance above 180°C. TVP also supplies ISO 9001 manufacturing and EPC processes and practices.

Our History:
Established in 2008, TVP has received over CHF 100’000’000 investment to develop, engineer, patent, and certify our core high-vacuum insulation technology, our flagship MT-Power solar thermal panel and our first volume manufacturing plant, in addition to funding an international go-to-market strategy.
With an active sales team across France, Germany, Brazil, China, and Switzerland, TVP also owns an Italian subsidiary acting as OEM of our technology, as well as the EPC arm for self-developed projects. A separate subsidiary is dedicated to renewable heat infrastructure investments.
Overall, TVP employs over 160 personnel worldwide.

The Solar Heating and Cooling Programme was founded in 1977 as one of the first multilateral technology initiatives (Technology Collaboration Programmes) of the International Energy Agency. Its mission is “to enhance collective knowledge and application of solar heating and cooling through international collaboration to reach the goal set in the vision of solar thermal energy meeting 50% of low temperature heating and cooling demand by 2050.

The members of the Programme collaborate on projects (referred to as “Tasks”) in the field of research, development, demonstration (RD&D), and test methods for solar thermal energy and solar buildings.

The UNIT for Energy Efficient Buildings has two Professor chairs. The chair of building physics is hold by Professor Wolfgang Feist, who is the founder of the German Passive House Institute. His group is specialized thermal and moisture transport, acoustics of building construction as well as ventilation systems.
Prof. Wolfgang Streicher is head of the Institute of Structural Engineering and Material Sciences holds the char of energy efficient buildings and Renewable Energy. It represents a link between classical civil engineering in the building sector and the more mechanical engineering driven HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) and lighting system and the use of renewable energy (solar, biomass, ambient heat) in buildings.
The laboratories comprise climatic chambers for U-value measurement of smaller parts and a fully automatic and flexible heat source/sink apparatus with up to 60 kW heating/cooling supplies for standard and hardware in the loop tests and a test facility for smal decentralied air-air heat recovery heat pump units. The outdoor part includes an solar collector test stand, acoustics and thermal test benchs for façade elements (each for elements 2.6 * 2.6 m). The Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE creates the technological foundations for supplying energy efficiently and on an environmentally sound basis in industrialized, threshold and developing countries. With its research focusing on energy conversion, energy efficiency, energy distribution and energy storage, it contributes to the broad application of new technology.
Founded in 1981, Fraunhofer ISE, with a staff of 1200, is the largest solar research institute in Europe.

The IGTE is one of the leading institutes of the University of Stuttgart and has a unique position on energy engineering within the fields of building energetics, smart city concepts, HVAC systems and energy storages. The department “Smart city concepts and building automation” develop innovative concepts for the energy supply of districts and villages and innovative solutions for the energy supply of buildings.
