September Webinar: IEA SHC Solar Academy: Manufacturing and Design for Reliability and Durability in Solar Thermosyphon Hot Water Systems

On 25 and 27 September, ISES is happy to welcome IEA SHC to hold a webinar on IEA SHC Solar Academy: Manufacturing and Design for Reliability and Durability in Solar Thermosyphon Hot Water Systems. Speakers are Prof. Robert Taylor, UNSW, Australia, Prof. Bojia LI, Solar Energy Application Center, China Academy of Building Research, China, Jiao Qingtai, Chief engineer of Solareast Group, China, Rudi Moschik, AEE INTEC, Austria. Moderator is Bärbel Epp, Solrico

The webinar will discuss the reliability and durability issues that thermosyphon systems face when installed in southern Africa, China, and other regions (i.e., stagnation/over-temperature events, high irradiance levels, lack of supply water, corrosion, etc.), including a panel discussion after the presentations.

Speaker presentations:

  • Prof. Robert Taylor - Presentation: Introduction & Overview
  • Prof. Bojia LI - Presentation: Initial results / findings on system ‘Reliability and Durability’
  • Jiao Qingtai – Presentation: Current situation and development of solar hot water in China
  • Rudi Moschik - Presentation: Current situation and development of solar hot water in Southern African Development Community (SADC) region
  • Moderator: Bärbel Epp, Solrico

ISES and the IEA SHC Solar Academy are happy to announce that this webinar will be held twice, first on 25 September at 12 PM GMT/UTC and again on 27 September 2024 at 6 AM GMT/UTC to accommodate our global audience, especially from Australia and Asia. The broadcast webinar on 04 July will then be followed by a separate live Q/A.
