November Webinar: IEA SHC Solar Academy: Current developments in thermal energy storage materials
On and 21 and 23 November, we are excited to hold a webinar on IEA SHC Solar Academy: Current developments in thermal energy storage materials. Speakers are Wim van Helden (AEE INTEC), Helena Navarro (University of Birmingham), Gerald Englmair (Technical University of Denmark) and Ángel Serrano Casero (CIC energiGUNE). The webinar will be moderated by Bärbel Epp.
The webinar will talk about the latest R&D activities into compact thermal energy storage materials. The webinar will address the development of testing methods to characterize the materials and the exploration of reliable techniques to measure the state-of-charge in compact thermal energy storage. Moreover, it will provide insights into the comprehensive evaluation of stability of the materials, when used for years in practical applications.
Speaker presentations:
- Wim van Helden: An Introduction to compact thermal energy storage materials
- Helena Navarro: Round robin test on thermal conductivity/thermal diffusivity
- Gerald Englmair: State of charge determination utilizing material response in Compact Thermal Energy Storages
- Ángel Serrano Casero: Stability mapping with examples of PCMs and TCMs
ISES and the IEA SHC Solar Academy are happy to announce that this webinar will be broadcasted twice, first on 21 November and again on 23 November 2023 at 6 AM GMT/UTC to accommodate our global audience, especially from Australia and Asia. The broadcast webinar will then be followed by a separate live Q/A with the webinar speakers starting at 7.15 AM GMT/UTC. Learn more and register here.
